Ever wonder how mural artists paint murals at such large scale?
Well... sometimes they use the pouncing technique!
Using a tool to create dash lines on a printed design on paper, black chalk is 'pounced' through the dash lines.
In a revolutionary technique, Lasercutit can now replicate this at speed using their laser machines to create the dash lines.
Watch how we created this mural using pouncing paper and stencils
- 0.11 Step 1. Place the paper with the design on the wall – laser cut with dashlines – secure with spray glue
- 0.15 Step 2. Use a pouncing pad or fill a piece of cotton with charcoal. Press the charcoal into the dash cut lines on the paper
- 0.26 Step 3. Use the faint chalk lines as a guide to paint the design on the wall
- 0.54 Step 4. Use a stencil to paint text or designs with few colour layers – adhere with spray glue
- 1.03 Step 6. Paint using foam roller – build up colour with light layers
- 1.13 Step 7. Peel stencil from the wall carefully – fill in any letter breaks with a paint brush
