The Enquiry

Our client, Absolute Clean, was approached by Liverpool Football Club to reverse graffiti 12,848 fans' names around the streets of Liverpool Football Stadium.

This was to be symbolic of the number of bottles recycled at each home match, which has enabled Mr Muscle to release a cleaning spray made partially from plastic recycled from Anfield Stadium.

Liverpool Football Club aimed to express gratitude to its fans for their role in fostering a sustainable future. This gesture underscored the significance of sustainability in parallel with the iconic anthem of the club, 'You'll Never Walk Alone.'

Challenges

The challenges associated with producing a high volume of text stencils include;

Design time frame -  the duration required to manually incorporate breaks into the letters

Human Error -  missing breaks in letters inadvertently can lead to incorrect words

Cutting time - cutting time was high due to cutting text

Application -  though not within our control, the surface needed to be sufficiently dirty for the stencils to be visible

Solution

Design time frame

This was a painstaking job for our design team who worked round the clock to make sure we met the tight deadline of this project.

Human Error

We implemented a triple proof system to minimize the chances of human error. Each stencil underwent scrutiny from three different individuals!

Cutting time

The cutting time for these stencils were high as text has a lot of points of contact for the laser beam. We dedicated 2 machines to this project to meet the deadline.

Application

When using a clean graffiti stencil, the pavement should be sufficiently dirty to allow the 'cleaning' to reveal the names. The Absolute Clean team took on this challenge and reapplied the stencil in a different area when needed.
